Mouse is an important thing for every computer users. Even some laptop users prefer usb mouse instead of in-built touch pad.
Now just recently my usb mouse got damaged at night during surfing on Internet. Now without mouse Internet surfing and other works are really hard to do. I mean mouse right click and all other stuff can't be done from keyboard's short cuts. So I have to search for an alternate option on Internet for time being.
During searching I came to know that we can operate mouse cursor using our number pad. Follow the procedure stated below :
- Just go to 'Control Panel'. From their go to 'Ease of Access Center' . (Or you can go here directly by pressing windows+u key from keyboard) . Now click on 'Make the mouse easier to use'
- Now in this window tick on 'Turn on Mouse Keys' check box. And click on 'Set up Mouse Keys' below.
- Now in new window tick on 'Turn on Mouse Keys' check box again if its not checked. In the same window you can also adjust the speed of mouse cursor so you can handle it more easily. And you can also change other settings if you want.
- Now after all settings just click on apply button and okay. That's it. Now you will able to see a mouse icon in your task-bar. Now you just need to on Number Lock from keyboard . And you will able to move mouse cursor with that number pad.
Yes this is all you need to use it. Let me tell you in compare of USB mouse it is nothing. But surely it can be helpful during some situation like when your mouse is not working. For time being you can use it.
I don't know whether people know about it or not. But I just came to know about it recently so i guess I should share it here.
I don't know whether it works with windows XP or not but please tell me if it works with windows XP too.
